How to Use Ford Remote Start
One of our favorite features to show off to our Munster customers is Ford Remote Start. You may have recently bought a new Ford vehicle home, excited about the fact that you can start and stop it remotely, but now realize you haven’t been shown how to use Ford Remote Start! Don’t worry, Webb Ford is here to help. We’ve put together the easy-to-follow instructions below on how to use this feature and explain Ford Remote Access.
How to Use the Ford Remote Start Feature
It’s not hard to get the hang of this feature. Here is how to use Ford Remote Start to start and turn off your vehicle:
Starting Your Vehicle
- Press the lock button on the key fob
- Press the remote start button twice
- Your headlights should flash twice
- The horn will honk if the above steps didn’t work
Turning the Vehicle Off
- Make sure your vehicle is in Park
- Press the remote start button
- The headlights should turn off
How to Use the Ford Remote Start Memory Feature
The memory capabilities of Ford Remote start is a favorite part of this feature for many Schererville drivers. If your car is equipped with the memory feature, you’ll never have to worry about adjusting your seat, mirrors, or steering wheel again. It will adjust everything exactly where you want it when you press the unlock button on your key fob. Here’s how to set it:
- Turn the key on and adjust your seat, mirrors, and steering wheel to the desired positions.
- Locate the three buttons on the side panel of the driver’s side door.
- Hold the first button down until you hear your car chime twice.
- On the second chime, immediately press the lock button on the key fob.

Did you know that you can start and stop your vehicle using your smartphone? That’s thanks to the Ford Remote Access feature, also known as FordPass. Here are some of its other capabilities:
- Start and stop remotely
- Lock and unlock remotely
